Guests of Honor

Jonathan and Rebecca Tipermas moved to Greenwich five years ago and immediately felt embraced by the warm and caring community that is Chabad of Greenwich. Through Mommy and Me classes, Preschool and Camp programming, Holiday/Shabbat services, and adult education classes, the evolving needs of their growing family have consistently been met through everything Chabad of Greenwich has to offer. They live in Riverside with their four children, Eva (6), Nathan (4), Jacob (4), and Zachary (1). Jon is a Portfolio Manager at the hedge fund Citadel and Rebecca has a Masters in Education, was a teacher and worked in non-profit development before focusing her time on family life. Jon serves on the board of Jewish Family Services of Greenwich and Rebecca is on the Women's Philanthropy Board of UJA Greenwich. Chabad of Greenwich is honored to count Jon and Rebecca amongst the leadership of our community, and we pay tribute to the effort that they invest in bringing many people together and in building a strong spiritual home for the benefit of people of all ages and backgrounds, at Chabad.
Community Service Tribute
Peter J. Tesei was elected Greenwich First Selectman in November 2007 and is now concluding his sixth and final term. A fifth-generation Greenwich resident, Peter has long had an interest in government and politics. In 1987, at the age of 18, Peter was the youngest member ever elected to the RTM; he was elected to the BET in 1997. Peter believes Greenwich’s greatest strength is the citizens who volunteer countless hours to keeping Greenwich an enviable place to live, work and raise a family. Peter and his wife Jill are the proud parents of a daughter,Caroline, and a son, James, who both attend Greenwich Public Schools. The Jewish community of Greenwich, together with all the citizens of this lovely town, salute our First Selectman for his years of dedicated public service, and we are deeply grateful for his sincere and genuine friendship.
